In October, we announced the next evolution of Control4 Connect, shaped by your feedback. We’ve made a few important adjustments to ensure a great experience for both you and your customers. These updates give you greater flexibility and more ways to deliver value to your customers.
Beginning November 12, 2025:
- New systems: Connect becomes optional for all new X4 systems.
- Existing systems on X4:
- $0 or $99 Connect subscription (CA-1 or CORE Lite): These subscriptions have been extended at $0 through the end of 2026. No action is needed by the customer or dealer.
- $249 Connect subscription: Connect becomes optional at renewal. Customers will be presented with the option to decline or pay for the $249 subscription in the Control4 mobile app.
What Does This Mean for You and Your Customers?
- X4 will offer more value out of the box: Local app access, Apple Music, and built-in education come standard, no subscription necessary.*
- Premium features available: The optional Connect subscription will continue to unlock premium features like remote access, curated Routines, Apple HomeKit, plus access to new features that help systems improve over time.**
- Simple pricing: Connect will be priced at $249/year for all controller types and projects with multiple controllers.
Note: Connect will become an optional subscription for existing systems in Q1 2026. Prior to that timeframe, existing systems upgrading to X4 do require a Connect subscription.
