New Usability Features for OvrC Device Lists

This OvrC update is focused on making the DEVICES list more powerful, more customizable, and easier to use. Forge your own personalized Device List experience, one that provides the data you need, presented the way you like it.

DEVICE LISTS PERSONALIZED FOR YOU

  • Adjust your view with DENSITY to squeeze in more lines, or provide more content per line
  • CUSTOMIZE your view by selecting which data-columns to include, arranged to the match your priorities, and resized as you see fit
  • STICKY GRID customizations (density, included columns, ordering, sorting) are saved and will track across all clients and logins, even across different devices

DEVICE LISTS THAT WORK FOR YOU

OvrC has also be updated to help you access and use that data more efficiently. Check out the new smart and sticky features that you won’t be able to live without:

  • Enjoy more viewable results as the INTELLIGENT SCROLLING slides the menu and header up and out of the way
  • STICKY SCROLLING saves current location in the list, allowing you to resume scrolling from your last location, even after visiting a device page or a different customer
  • STICKY SEARCH will apply the search filter to all Sites allowing you to continue a specific device or brand search across all customers

DEVICE LISTS THAT ARE CLUTTER-FREE

Data is only as useful as it is to find, so we’ve figured out a solution to declutter the Devices List: the Automatic Removal of Locally Administered Address (LAA) devices:

LAA devices are mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, Android, etc) that override their burnt-in MAC for a locally assigned MAC that changes once a week to prevent tracking and help protect consumer privacy. Some LAA devices are listed as Unspecified in OvrC, but not all Unspecified are LAA devices.

  • OvrC will keep your Device List free from clutter by automatically removing any LAA devices after 7 days if they have not been renamed or had notes added
  • March 4th through March 7th: the initial scrub of every Site to remove all LAA devices that are 7 days or older, resulting in a much reduced device-count
  • Going forward, every LAA device found during a scan will be added to the Device List with a 7-day timer
  • LAA devices with expired timers will be scrubbed from OvrC daily
  • Network scans will now complete faster, and scrolling through the Device List will be much easier

DEVICE LISTS THAT ARE MORE ACCURATE

OvrC App update v7.6.1 introduces a new way to discover new devices, while also providing more correct and complete device information.

  • MATTER is now supported as a discovery protocol for better device identification.
