Next Generation Binary MoIP Firmware Greater Visibility and End Point Control

With Binary MoIP firmware version 4.0.2.2, integrators will have greater visibility into system status and more granular control, such as the ability to reboot end points remotely.

To achieve this, MoIP deployment and configuration will require connecting to the OvrC cloud servers using an active internet connection. This means that Partners will only use the local MoIP controller interfaces for basic network assignments and OvrC pairings.

Partners who want to maintain local/non-cloud-based configuration or use of the local web user interface should not update to version 4.0.2.2 firmware.

The Benefits of Updating to Binary MoIP Firmware Version 4.0.2.2

End Point Online Status

  • Each MoIP endpoint is now a native device in the OvrC device list. This allows for real time visibility to the online status of the device including the ability to set notifications for when a device goes offline.

Real Time Status

  • With this update, the MoIP controller is now capable of delivering real time status updates on the current state of each individual endpoint. This capability will be enhanced over time to better position us to identify the health and performance of the MoIP system over time.

Better Network Visibility

  • Critical to any successful MoIP deployment is a properly configured network. Moving the MoIP configuration to the cloud will allow us over time to better manage the MoIP network not only at deployment but in real time operation and highlight any issues when they occur.

Important Information

  • The Standalone App for end-user control was removed from version 4.0.2.2 firmware. Users leveraging this application for system control should seek an alternative method before upgrading.
  • Partners who want to maintain the current setup and user interface with local/non-cloud-based configuration using the local web user interface can stay on the current firmware and not update to version 4.0.2.2 firmware.
  • This firmware will be pushed via OvrC but will require a technician to agree within OvrC.

Additional Information for Control4 Partners:
You Can Now Stream Ryff to Binary MoIP Receivers

Together, Binary MoIP Firmware 4.0.2.2 and Control4 OS 3.3.2 will enable new Ryff-to-MoIP streaming. Integrators now have the option to stream audio from any CORE or EA controller over the network to a Binary MoIP Receiver.

This new Ryff-to-MoIP feature provides integrators with more options when deploying distributed audio and is a first step in delivering an IP audio platform that will simplify audio design and installation. Control4 Partners can visit the Control4 Portal for details.
